هدف چاقی و اضافه وزن به عنوان عامل بسیار مهمی در حرکات افراد در دنیای مدرن تبدیل شده است لذا مطالعه حاضر با هدف تأثیر اضافه وزن بر عوامل کینماتیکی راه رفتن در کودکان، جوانان، میانسالان و سالمندان انجام شد.
روش‌ها روش پژوهش حاضر از نوع علی مقایسه‌ای پس از وقوع بوده که تعداد 40 شرکت‌کننده 9 تا 85 ساله واجد شرایط انتخاب شدند و بر اساس شاخص توده بدنی به هشت گروه (چهار گروه عادی و چهار گروه دارای اضافه وزن) در چهار رده سنی تقسیم شدند. تمام شرکت‌کنندگان سالم بودند و ناهنجاری بدنی نداشتند و راه رفتنشان عادی بود. از دستگاه آنالیز حرکت کوالیسیس برای اندازه‌گیری متغیّرهای کینماتیکی راه رفتن از قبیل طول گام، عرض گام، مدت زمان مرحله ایستایش، مدت زمان مرحله نوسان، حمایت دوگانه و سرعت گام استفاده شد. از آزمون آنالیز واریانس دو راهه برای تحلیل داده‌ها و از نرم‌افزار SPSS برای تحلیل آماری استفاده شد و سطح معنی‌داری 0/05 در نظر گرفته شد.
یافته‌ها نتایج، تفاوت معنی‌داری را در متغیرهای سرعت گام {اثر سن (364/0) و اثر وضعیت بدنی (487/0)}، زمان مرحله حمایت دوگانه {اثر سن (304/0) و اثر وضعیت بدنی (092/0)} و ایستایش {اثر سن (094/0) و اثر وضعیت بدنی (271/0)} گروه‌های سنی مختلف نشان نداد اما تفاوت معنی‌داری در متغیرهای طول گام {اثر سن (0001/0) و اثر وضعیت بدنی (038/0)}، عرض گام {اثر سن (01/0) و اثر وضعیت بدنی (017/0)} و مدت زمان مرحله تاب دادن {اثر سن (0001/0) و اثر وضعیت بدنی (731/0)} بین گروه‌های سنی با و بدون اضافه وزن را نشان داد.
نتیجه‌گیری به نظر می‌رسد سن و وضعیت بدنی می‌تواند بر ویژگی‌های فضایی- زمانی گام برداشتن از طریق عواملی همچون قد، وزن و تعادل تأثیر گذارد.
