Aims & Scopes

The Journal of Sport Biomechanics is dedicated to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that advances the understanding and application of biomechanical principles in sport, exercise, human movement, health, and rehabilitation. The journal provides an interdisciplinary forum for researchers, clinicians, rehabilitation specialists, sport scientists, and biomedical engineers to disseminate original scientific findings that contribute to the advancement of biomechanics and movement sciences.
The journal welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, narrative reviews, methodological papers, short communications, and letters to the Editor that present theoretical, experimental, computational, or clinical advances in biomechanics.
The journal particularly encourages submissions in, but is not limited to, the following areas:
•    Sport Biomechanics
•    Clinical Biomechanics
•    Human Movement Analysis
•    Gait and Running Biomechanics
•    Balance and Postural Control
•    Motor Control and Motor Learning
•    Sports Performance Analysis
•    Sports Injuries and Injury Prevention
•    Rehabilitation Biomechanics
•    Orthotics and Prosthetics
•    Ergonomics
•    Motion Capture and Wearable Sensor Technologies
•    Electromyography (EMG) and Neuromuscular Analysis
•    Computational Biomechanics and Biomechanical Modeling
•    Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Biomechanical Analysis
The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary research that integrates biomechanics with rehabilitation sciences, sports medicine, biomedical engineering, and digital technologies to improve human movement, physical performance, injury prevention, rehabilitation outcomes, and quality of life.
Manuscripts that do not contain a substantial biomechanical component or fall outside the scientific scope of the journal are unlikely to be considered for peer review.
