هدف این مطالعه با هدف بررسی تأثیر تمرین در سه شیب مختلف سربالایی — 7.6، 5.1 و 2.5 درصدی — بر ویژگی‌های کینماتیکی منتخب دوندگان نیمه‌استقامت انجام شد.
روش‌ها چهل دونده نیمه‌استقامت یک تست دو سرعت حداکثر در مسافت ۳۰ متر انجام دادند تا ویژگی‌های کینماتیکی آن‌ها ارزیابی شود. شرکت‌کنندگان به‌صورت تصادفی به یکی از سه گروه تمرین در سربالایی یا گروه کنترل اختصاص داده شدند. ارزیابی‌های پیش و پس از تمرین برای بررسی تأثیر ۸ هفته تمرین در سربالایی بر سرعت حداکثر (Vmax)، نرخ گام‌برداری (SR)، طول گام (SL)، زمان تماس (CT) و زمان پرواز (FT) انجام گرفت.
یافته‌ها گروه تمرین در شیب تندتر (STHG) بهبود معناداری در سرعت حداکثر (Vmax)، نرخ گام‌برداری (SR) و طول گام (SL) نشان داد. گروه با شیب متوسط (IHG) نیز در همین سه متغیر افزایش معناداری داشت. در گروه با شیب ملایم (SHG) تنها سرعت حداکثر (Vmax) به‌طور معناداری افزایش یافت و در سایر متغیرها تغییری مشاهده نشد.
نتیجه‌گیری یافته‌های این مطالعه نشان می‌دهد که تمرین در سربالایی، به‌ویژه در شیب‌های تندتر، می‌تواند به‌طور معناداری ویژگی‌های کینماتیکی کلیدی در دوندگان نیمه‌استقامت را بهبود بخشد و تمرین در شیب‌های تندتر بیشترین مزیت را به همراه داردد.
