هدف سرعت و استقامت قلبی–عروقی از مؤلفه‌های کلیدی عملکرد ورزشی در هر دو گروه ورزش‌های سالنی و میدانی هستند. هرچند این دو نوع ورزش از نظر محیط بازی و الزامات تاکتیکی متفاوت‌اند، اما نیازهای جسمانی مشابهی دارند. هدف از این پژوهش، ارزیابی و مقایسه سطوح سرعت و استقامت در میان ورزشکاران مرد رشته‌های سالنی و میدانی به‌منظور بهبود راهبردهای تمرینی و عملکردی است.
روش‌ها شصت ورزشکار مرد در سطح بین‌دانشگاهی (سن ۱۸ تا ۲۵ سال) از دانشگاه علوم و فناوری جشور (بنگلادش) به‌صورت تصادفی به دو گروه ورزش‌های سالنی (۳۰ نفر) و ورزش‌های میدانی (۳۰ نفر) تقسیم شدند. برای سنجش سرعت از آزمون دو سرعت ۵۰ متری و دو رفت‌وبرگشت ۴×۱۰ متر، و برای سنجش استقامت از آزمون بپ (Beep Test) و آزمون کوپر (Cooper Test) استفاده شد. داده‌ها با نرم‌افزار SPSS  نسخه ۲۷ تحلیل و آزمون تی مستقل در سطح معنی‌داری کمتر از 0.05 اجرا شد.
یافته‌ها یافته‌ها نشان دادند بین ورزشکاران رشته‌های میدانی و سالنی از نظر سرعت و استقامت تفاوت آماری معناداری وجود ندارد. نتایج آزمون‌های ۴×۱۰ متر و ۵۰ متر بیانگر سطوح مشابه سرعت، و آزمون‌های بپ و کوپر نشان‌دهنده عملکرد استقامتی مشابه در دو گروه بودند. هرچند میانگین عملکرد ورزشکاران میدانی اندکی بالاتر بود، این تفاوت‌ها از نظر آماری معنادار نبود.
نتیجه‌گیری در مجموع، ورزشکاران سالنی و میدانی از نظر مؤلفه‌های اصلی آمادگی جسمانی، شامل سرعت و استقامت، در سطوح تقریباً یکسانی قرار دارند. بنابراین، برنامه‌های تمرینی بهبوددهنده سرعت و استقامت می‌توانند به‌طور مؤثر در هر دو گروه ورزشی به کار گرفته شوند.
