هدف راه رفتن یکی از مهم‌ترین و پرکاربردترین روش انتقال در روزمره افراد است؛ یکی از آسیب‌هایی که آن را تحت تأثیر قرار می‌دهد کوتاهی همسترینگ و کمردرد است؛ بنابراین این تحقیق به بررسی تأثیر تمرینات آکادمی طب ورزش آمریکا بر نیروهای عکس‌العمل زمین در افراد دارای کوتاهی همسترینگ و کمردرد در طی راه رفتن پرداخته است.
روش‌ها این مطالعه نیمه‌تجربی شامل ۳۰ مرد ۲۰ تا ۳۰ ساله بود که به دو گروه تجربی (۱۵ نفر دارای کوتاهی/ سفتی عضلات همسترینگ و کمردرد) و کنترل (۱۵ نفر سالم) تقسیم شدند. گروه تجربی یک برنامه تمرینات اصلاحی NASM را به مدت ۸ هفته انجام داد، در حالی که گروه کنترل فعالیت‌های معمول خود را ادامه داد. نیروهای عکس‌العمل زمین حین راه‌رفتن با سرعت ۲٫۳ متر بر ثانیه با استفاده از صفحه نیروی Bertec ثبت شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون تحلیل واریانس دوسویه با اندازه‌گیری‌های تکراری در نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه ۲۶ و با سطح معناداری 0.05 تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها با توجّه به نتایج به‌دست آمده اثر عامل زمان در مقادیر اوج نیروی جانبی هنگام تماس پاشنه پا با زمین (0.024=p؛ 0.201=d) و فاز جدا شدن پاشنه پا‌‌ (0.001=p؛ 0.633=d) از نظر آماری دارای اختلاف معناداری بود. اثر تعاملی زمان*گروه در مقادیر نیروی ترمزکنندگی از نظر آماری دارای اختلاف معناداری بود (0.001=p؛ 0.399=d). اثر تعاملی زمان*گروه در مقادیر اوج نیروهای عکس‌العمل زمین در راستای عمودی هنگام جدا شدن پاشنه پا‌‌ از نظر آماری دارای اختلاف معناداری بود (0.010=p؛ 0.254=d). اثر تعاملی زمان*گروه در مقادیر زمان رسیدن به اوج نیروهای عکس‌العمل زمین در راستای قدامی خلفی هنگام تماس پاشنه پا با زمین از نظر آماری دارای اختلاف معناداری بود (0.006=p؛ 0.276=d).
نتیجه‌گیری بر اساس یافته‌های پژوهش حاضر، تمرینات آکادمی طب ورزش آمریکا توانسته است از طریق بهبود کنترل عصبی-عضلانی و اصلاح الگوی حرکتی، نیروهای عکس‌العمل زمین و گشتاور آزاد را در افراد دارای کوتاهی همسترینگ و کمردرد به‌طور مطلوبی تعدیل کند و بارهای مکانیکی وارد بر اندام تحتانی را کاهش دهد.
