هدف هندبال ورزشی است که به سطوح بالایی از توان بی‌هوازی، قدرت انفجاری و توانایی اجرای مکرر حرکات سرعتی نیاز دارد. هدف این پژوهش بررسی تأثیر تمرینات پاور سایکلینگ بر ظرفیت بی‌هوازی و عملکرد انفجاری بازیکنان نخبه زن هندبال بود.
روش‌ها در این مطالعه، 43 بازیکن نخبه زن هندبال که در لیگ ملی هندبال بانوان بنگلادش شرکت کرده بودند و حداقل پنج سال سابقه مستمر فعالیت در هندبال داشتند، انتخاب شدند. شرکت‌کنندگان به دو گروه کنترل (21 نفر) و تمرین (22 نفر) تقسیم شدند. داده‌ها در نرم‌افزار Microsoft Excel ثبت و با استفاده از نرم‌افزار IBM SPSS Statistics نسخه 25.0 تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها مقایسه بین‌گروهی در مرحله پیش‌آزمون نشان داد که در اکثر متغیرهای مرتبط با پاور سایکلینگ تفاوت آماری معناداری بین دو گروه وجود نداشت (0.05p). همچنین، همبستگی مثبت و بسیار قوی بین عملکرد توان اوج با توده عضلانی اسکلتی اندام تحتانی و محیط ران گزارش شد (r = 0.91, p < 0.001). مدل‌های رگرسیون چندگانه به‌ترتیب 86/6 درصد از واریانس توان اوج و 82/8 درصد از واریانس توان میانگین را تبیین کردند که نشان می‌دهد شاخص‌های مورفولوژیک اندام تحتانی پیش‌بینی‌کننده‌های قابل اعتمادی برای عملکرد بی‌هوازی در آزمون دوچرخه‌سواری هستند.
نتیجه‌گیری گروه تمرین، علی‌رغم عدم وجود تفاوت‌های معنادار بین‌گروهی، بهبودهایی در متغیرهای کلیدی عملکرد آزمون وینگیت نشان داد. توده عضلانی اسکلتی اندام تحتانی و محیط ران از پیش‌بینی‌کننده‌های قوی عملکرد بی‌هوازی محسوب می‌شوند و مدل‌های رگرسیونی ارائه‌شده می‌توانند به‌عنوان روشی کاربردی برای پایش ظرفیت بی‌هوازی بازیکنان زن هندبال مورد استفاده قرار گیرند.
