هدف تخمین دقیق نیروهای عضلانی–اسکلتی برای درک بیومکانیک مفاصل، بهبود راهبردهای توان‌بخشی و بهینه‌سازی طراحی ایمپلنت‌ها اهمیت دارد. نیروهای واکنشی مفصل را می‌توان با استفاده از اندازه‌گیری‌های بیومکانیکی و مدل‌سازی عضلانی–اسکلتی تخمین زد. هدف این مطالعه، مقایسه دقت تخمین نیروی تماس مفصل زانو بین دو مدل عضلانی–اسکلتی Gait2392  و Rajagopal  در محیط OpenSim  بود.
روش‌ها داده‌های شش شرکت‌کننده مورد تحلیل قرار گرفت. داده‌های بیومکانیکی حاصل از تکالیف راه رفتن و اسکوات استفاده شد. پس از مقیاس‌بندی دو مدل عضلانی–اسکلتی، تحلیل نیروهای واکنشی مفصل در OpenSim  انجام شد. خطای نسبی بین نیروهای تماس پیش‌بینی‌شده توسط مدل‌ها و نیروهای اندازه‌گیری‌شده درون‌بدنی (in vivo) توسط ایمپلنت محاسبه شد. برای مقایسه خطاهای مدل‌ها از آزمون t زوجی مبتنی بر نقشه‌برداری پارامتریک آماری (SPM) در سطح معنی‌داری 0.05 استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها تحلیل SPM نشان داد که خطای تخمین مدل Rajagopal در مرحله اتکا طی راه رفتن و بخش قابل‌توجهی از چرخه اسکوات، به‌ویژه در مؤلفه عمودی نیرو، به‌طور معنی‌داری بیشتر بود. مقادیر RMSE مدل Gait2392 در راه رفتن و اسکوات به‌ترتیب 0.835 و 1.536 و در مدل Rajagopal به‌ترتیب 1.486 و 3.371 بود.
نتیجه‌گیری مدل Gait2392 در مقایسه با مدل Rajagopal، تخمین دقیق‌تری از نیروهای تماس مفصل زانو طی فعالیت‌های راه رفتن و اسکوات ارائه کرد و می‌تواند برای تحلیل فعالیت‌های عملکردی مشابه با سرعت پایین مناسب‌تر باشد.
